The 2023 Mark Time Merlot is the first in the Mark Time line up for Slouch Hat. The Mark Time line up will be our annual Bordeaux varietal or blend. Named after the military command, Mark Time, but also after owner/winemaker Matt Fowler's dad, Mark, who almost entirely drinks Bordeaux varietals. This particular wine comes from the Los Olivos District AVA. Aged in 25% new French oak and 75% neutral it retains its fresh fruit characteristics while developing a strong structered wine with layers of complexity. The freshness allows it to be enjoyed right now. The structure and complexity will allow it to be enjoyed years from now.
