M.P. Fowler’s Notes:

Our goal is to create a Sauvignon Blanc that is a true expression of the Santa Ynez Valley. In order to achieve this, we blend our Sauvignon Blanc from two vineyards. The first (Tierra Alta) provides juicier, more tropical flavored fruit. In the second vineyard (Star Lane) the fruit is typically higher in acidity with wonderful citrus notes. We barrel ferment and age a portion of the Sauvignon Blanc from Star Lane in large format neutral barrels to round out its acidity and provide more body. The Tierra Alta fruit is aged in stainless steel. By blending the two we hope to create a fresh, refreshing, and crisp yet nuanced and inviting Sauvignon Blanc that shows the best of what the SYV can produce.
